As the fall sports season comes to a close, athletes and spectators look forward to the beginning of district play. With the season on the line, the preparation for each sport in the next coming weeks is crucial.
“We are focusing more on our little mistakes to try and improve our game as a whole. I’m really excited to see how we do because I think we have a good chance at going far”, said junior volleyball player Alex Nicastro about the measures being taken for getting ready for districts. The first district game for the volleyball team is October 22nd, make sure to come out and show support!
The football team has their first district game on October 31st, where the football team looks to improve their record and take home the championship. The football team already has a dominant win against Francis Howell North, with a key player on the team including sophomore quarterback Dawson Sikma. As a whole, we are excited to see how the warriors do in their district play.
The cross country team also has big expectations to live up to going into district play as the two time state champs look to add a third to their resume. “The expectations this year have been set high since the start of the season. We want a 3-peat and with that comes lots of hard work and dedication”, said senior runner Genna Wacker. The district meet is held on November 2nd.
The girls tennis team has had an impressive season so far, winning a conference match as well as 3 other matches. Their first district match for individuals will be on October 11th, with team matches following shortly after on October 14th. Good luck to all competing!
Boys Soccer is looking to make a great comeback for their district play. Their first game will be on October 29th, we look forward to seeing what they can accomplish.
The softball team has had a great season with their record being 6-11, recently taking big wins over teams such as Orchard Farm, Pattonville, and Hazelwood Central. Their first game will be on October 16th.
