SCW boys basketball dubbed district champs after win against Orchard Farm (Photo Gallery)
This past Friday, the St. Charles West boy’s basketball team was dubbed district champions at Terry Hollander Court against the Orchard Farm Eagles boy’s basketball team with a score of 40-34. During the game, the Warriors trailed the Eagles by as much as 22-30 in the late third quarter. However, the Warriors went on a phenomenal 15-2 run in the fourth quarter to secure their lead with 3:35 left. At the end of the game, junior Barry Thomas was fouled in order to secure the game to an astonishing 40-34, making the St. Charles West boy’s team Class 4 District 7 Champions: a comeback story of the year for the school.
The theme was USA, and student attendance was around 100-150 attendees as students rallied to support the boys in the district championship. The atmosphere was fun, energetic, and lively overall. Groups such as the cheer team was also in attendance to support our Warriors.
The Warriors play at Troy High School on Tuesday, March 7th, for the title of sectional champions against Mexico.
