SCW football tackles University City to bring record to 2-1
On Friday, the St. Charles West football team faced the University City Lions for another non-conference matchup at Steve Stahl Stadium. With the game being the first one at home, students at St. Charles West came in hawaiian gear for the game, including the cheer team and dance and drill. In the first quarter, both the Warriors and the Lions managed to score touchdowns on their opening drives of the game. The first touchdown by the Warriors was scored by senior Daine Taylor, a quarterback on the team. In addition, the Lions missed the extra point, bringing the score to 7-6 in the 1st quarter. At the tail end of the first quarter, senior Jacob Kirt ran for a six yard touchdown. Additionally, junior Ryan Beer completed the extra point.
These events brought the score to 14-6, with the Warriors in the lead. At the half, the score stayed consistent. By the third quarter, the score was 21-12. In the 4th quarter, senior Kyle Quinn scored his first varsity touchdown with a 14 yard touchdown run from junior Morgan Regot as quarterback. This made the score 28-12, which ended being the final score of the game. This brought the Warriors to 2-1 overall in the 2022 season. Congrats!
