Starting off our senior sendoffs for the class of 2023 is Hannah Schmitz. Hannah is going to Doane University to major in theater and is hoping to become a professional actor. Hannah takes vocal lessons and enjoys spending her time writing, styling outfits and hanging out with her dog.

Some of her favorites include: Heathers, Steel Magnolias, purple, crows, and the class actors studio and creative writing. Her favorite memory from West has been “Doing the plays here! Every one of them has a special place in my heart.”

When thinking about graduation Hannah feels, “Both nervous for what’s to come and excited to leave and start finding new opportunities in life. 

Advice for all the incoming freshmen is “Join clubs, make friends, and don’t be afraid to be a little weird or awkward. Eventually you’ll realize that the people here don’t matter unless you make them matter.

To sum the past four years, “This place has been excruciatingly boring.”
