Abby and Mary Loftus are one set of senior twins that go to St. Charles West. Both play large roles in the SCW community by participating in many extracurricular activities. Abby and Mary both participate in NHS and soccer, but also do separate sports. Mary plays on the varsity girls basketball team, while Abby is a three time state champion with the cross country team.
Anyone who is around the Loftus girls can see their kind energy they show to others. In and out of their activities, everything done with the Loftus’ is done with a smile. “I love getting to play soccer with the Loftus’ because they are very positive people and are a huge part of our team,” soccer teammate Anna White said. With both Loftus’ playing many sports, lots of different exciting memories come with that. “My favorite memory is Alex Nicastro choking on goldfish, and watching her miss 6 wide open goals in our jamboree,” Mary said. “My favorite memory was in our first district game of junior year. Alex Nicastro got chased by a bee and choked on a hot dog on the same day. My mom, Karen Loftus, saved her life”, Abby said.
Outside of school, Abby and Mary enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with friends, Mary also enjoys going to the pool in the summertime. After high school, Abby and Mary plan to attend St. Charles Community College and play soccer. Mary plans to major in elementary education, and Abby is undecided. Good luck to the Loftus girls as they start their future, the St. Charles West community will miss you.
