St. Charles West swimming beats St. Charles High pirates
This past Monday (12/13), the St. Charles West swim team accomplished a big win over the St. Charles High swim team. Over the past few meets, the swim team has placed second at two different tri-meets this year, and won against Hazelwood West on December 2nd. This team used their state qualifying 200 medley relay race (members including Paige Whiteside, Mya Buehrle, Izabela Brasher, and Stella Garrison) and managed to beat the St. Charles High pirates by seven seconds. The team managed to hold a steady lead with their solo races, with one particular member Izabela Brasher with a time of 1:20.92 during the 100 fly. The team went down by 3 points after the 200 free relay, but ultimately ended up beating the pirates 85-74, a huge win for the girls. To the people on the team, the coaches, and the school: this is more than a win. This is a conquering against the rival, and the school could not be more proud of them for their fantastic accomplishments this season.
Some more accomplishments include: Anna Klingler with a time of 1:37.99 during the 100 free, Jacqueline Gurley with a time of 3:30.42 during the 200 I.M.; Bree Williams, Anna Klingler, Sylvia Carroll, and Michaela Emery with a time of 6:34.14 during the 400 free relay, and Molly Grieb with a time of 1:50.81 during the 100 free relay.
