Free Feminine Hygiene Products
It’s easy to come to school and catch yourself without your tampon bag. Then you have to frantically text all of your girl friends asking if they have anything. Thankfully this will no longer be an issue.
Senior Claire Mascia has been working with Mrs. Syron and Care to Learn to bring free feminine hygiene products to all of our bathrooms around West. “Mrs. Syron has been critical in making this happen. She made sure the money was acquired, bought the products, and communicated with our janitorial staff to change out our machines.”
Life as a student is already busy, this will eliminate a lot of the stress from many young people’s lives. Claire explains how much this means to her, “I used to be so embarrassed about my period due to the stigma around it, so I’d like to help other girls who are going through the same thing. Also, so many girls lack access to these products at home, and they shouldn’t have to worry about their period to begin with. So, I just want to relieve as much stress as I can,”
You can find pads in free dispensers in all women’s restrooms right now. Tampons are currently on back order, but will be soon supplied.
