It’s only April, but a lot of things have happened this year that have not been on our 2023 bingo card in pop culture news. This week alone has brought new castings, breakups, and even wild engagements that we were totally not expecting. Let’s recap.

1. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s Rumored Breakup – Even after heart-wrenching songs about this infamously private couple, they have broken up after 6 years. Flashback to when they met, his buzz cut and her hair bleached at the 2016 Met Gala where Taylor made her first appearance for a year, and shortly after releasing her album Reputation. Since then, fans have fallen in love with their romance and songs Swift wrote like Lover, Lavender Haze, and London Boy. Many Swifties love this relationship so much they refuse to believe that the breakup rumors are true until either Joe or Taylor confirm it themselves.
2. Kim Kardashian joins American Horror Story – Known from the popular reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim is set to be in the 12th season of the horror series. Returning star Emma Roberts and writer (the only one) Hailey Feiffer are very excited to have such a pop culture icon join the show and have written a fun, but also terrifying role foe the Kardashian.
3. Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bon Jovi’s Engagement – At ages 19 and 20, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi and Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown have gotten engaged! Millie announced this news in an Instagram post capturing their beachside engagement, captioned with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s Lover, “I’ve loved you three summers now honey, but I want them all,”.
4. Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders – The SNL legend and American actress were pictured together in an Easter photo with business woman Martha Stewart. Stewart captioned the post, “hellofrommuffin dropped by with two friend, Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders. They were out looking at out beautiful ton of Bedford. I showed them around the farm and inside the winter house where the Easter Bunnies were getting ready for Sunday. Very cute couple!!!!”. Davidson has a reputation for dating girls out of his league, including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande, Wonder is no exception.
