Who is Your Prom Queen?

Julia Steele, staff writer

Who are the queens of the class of 2023? The tallies have been counted and the results are in.

Hayley Lewis: Hayley is super thankful to be recognized as a candidate. She explains, “I’m not currently enrolled in any SCW activities, all though I do show my support to those who participate.” Hayley shows her support through cheering on at games and encouraging school spirit. She encourages people to vote for whoever they think best represents their class and the spirit. We can’t wait to see previous homecoming queen walk with her boyfriend and homecoming king Louis Dieckmann.

Carolina Guerrero Gutierrez: Carolina was excited (and not to mention, surprised) to find out about her position on court. She will walk the line with Parker Ledbetter. She is in NHS, MAC Scholars as well has varsity tennis. Carolina wanted to let everyone know, “Vote Avery Little and Ben King!!”

Claire Mascia: Madame STUCO President was once again surprised to see her name on the ballot. She plays the saxophone in band, is in many clubs including STUCO, NHS, and Key Club, and plays ice hockey outside of school. “Win or lose, I’m just happy to be nominated!” Claire explains. She is super excited to walk with Scott Stratton-Henderson this year.

Kameryn Arnold: Kam was also surprised to see the email about being on court in her inbox. She is in basketball, softball, Renaissance, Key Club and also NHS. We all know Kam loves her sports, and activities but Kam also adores hanging with her friends.  She will partner up with Hasani Hendrickson for court.

Ella Smith: “It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that people wanted to vote for me,” Ella says after discovering her nomination. Ella is very active in the school, she is captain of the Dance N’ Drill Team, a member of theater, STUCO, ITS, NHS, Renaissance, and HOSA. Not to mention Ella throws her dancing shoes back on for PAC. Ella will make her entrance with Rolen Moore.

Elena Scheve: Sports star Elena Scheve was both surprised and excited to make court. She plays basketball and volleyball as well as throws for track. Elena is in FCA as well as the Tribe.  Elena loves hanging with her friends, playing sports, and the fact that we are finally getting to some warm weather. She will walk with Ben King and Avery Little.

Avery Little: Avery was simply just surprised to find out she was on court. She plays varsity softball here at West as well as travel softball. Why vote Avery? Who knows! What do you have to lose? Avery will be walking with Ben King and Elena Scheve.

Prom is THIS Saturday! We hope you got your tickets, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s prom looks. Good luck to the people on court, and don’t forget to cast your votes!

Have a roaring good time!!
