SCWest Pandemic Edition

SCWest Pandemic Edition

Katie Powell, writer

As fall comes around so does going back to school, this time a little different. SCSD has given students the choice to attend school in person or go virtually, and lots of students have made the choice to return even through new school policies. During the day students social distance, wear masks, and still keep their spirits up and make every day a great one.

The school day is shaped a little differently to coincide with health department guidelines, but SCWest still carries on while meeting these guidelines. Masks are required for all in person students, only being allowed to take them off during lunch. Instead of three lunches, there are now four with only four students allowed per table in order to social distance. Even though seats are spread apart in classrooms, students are still able to talk with friends and have a little fun. During passing periods teachers spray and wipe down desks and shared materials with cleaners.

Through these unpredictable times, SCWest is trying to make this experience as enjoyable and safe as possible. Students are working great with teachers meeting guidelines and as long as this continues we should be able to complete our school year without hiccups.
