St. Charles West welcomes a new administrative intern this school year, with Mr. Guilstorf (gil-store-f) becoming the 10th and 11th grade administrator. Guilstorf has taught at Parkway North High School, teaching history as a student teacher and substitute. He has also taught at Bernard Middle School in the Mehlville School District, teaching 7th and 8th grade English and social studies. Finally, he taught at Parkway Northeast middle school for 2 years before coming to St. Charles West.
“The staff works well together,” said Guilstorf when asked what made him choose St. Charles West. He describes the staff as cooperative and super friendly. “It was a great transition into administration and I wanted to work with both students and teachers.” Guilstorf plans to attend more sporting events to see students in their element. He also plans to check out some of the clubs at West to see what students do for the school.
With the first few weeks of school completed, Guilstorf compliments the behavior of the students at St. Charles West. He walked around during lunch time, introducing himself to students, and getting to know them. Guilstorf plans to know every student and what activities they are a part of to know his student population better. He is very excited to be at West this year and is looking forward to what’s ahead this school year.
