The SC West cheer team has been around since the school opened, but they haven’t competed since 2017. This year, coaches Kirsten Beer and Ashley Stanich have decided to bring back the competition team. Naming it The Maroon and White Team, Beer and Stanich worked all summer to get the team ready.
On September 21st, The Maroon and White Team competed at the St. Louis Regional competition at Lindbergh High School. They ended up placing second out of five teams with a score of 93.2. At this competition, the team got their invitation to compete at the state competition on November 2nd at Mizzou. They will also be competed on September 29th at the Kansas City Regionals at Liberty High School and placed first. We are so excited to see how these girls show up and show out for the rest of their season.
