Luke Buehler is known at St. Charles West for his outgoing personality, being able to talk to anyone and always making everyone laugh. He is the captain of the varsity football team while also being a member of FBLA and the Breakfast Club. Buehler was also the 2024 Homecoming King, alongside Avery Sikma.
In his free time, Buehler likes to volunteer at the food bank, ride his bike, bake and garden with his friends. His favorite thing to garden is potatoes, which he likes to make into stew.
On and off the football field Buehler has been an inspiration to his teammates. “Luke has had a positive impact on me because he’s always kind and gives me rides. He is always smiling; thats why we call him Big Cheese. He’s definitely made a great impact on our team” said sophomore Grant Quinn.
Buehler is a linebacker on the team and has been for all 4 years of high school. “Luke has been a tremendous leader all season, we have a ton of young guys looking up to him. He’s taking on more of a leadership role as far as far as being vocal and guiding the young players to do the right thing on the football field,” said Coach Allen.
Allen also believes Buehler has raised his game and done a lot of things that people don’t usually see in football. “He is hurt most of the time and looks like a cyborg on the field, but he plays hard and has a great heart,”.
All in all, everyone can agree that Buehler has been a great influence on his peers and has made a lasting impact on his team.
In the fall Buehler plans to go to Missouri S&T to study metallurgical engineering. In 10 years he sees himself working on an aircraft carrier in the Navy.
