With all the seniors at West, Jayden Day stands out. Her bright sense of fashion and electric personality show just how special Jayden really is. Jayden has been a part of many things at West, including volleyball, science club, SC West Players, MACS Scholars, and FBLA. Her involvement in the school has shown her commitment to the things she cares about.
Mrs. McLaughlin has had the pleasure of knowing Jayden. “ I have been lucky enough to befriend them and cultivated a wonderful friendship. Jayden has a big personality, full of cheer and kindness. I can always count on them to help with anything on my ‘to do’ list. I know that wonderful things are on the way in the future in whatever they pursue. It’s been an honor and privilege to get to know Jayden.” said McLaughlin.
Outside of school, you can find Jayden working at Arrow Senior Living Nursing Home, where she works as a server. You can also find her watercolor painting, collecting tea, exploring abandoned buildings, and hanging out with her life-sized scientific skeleton, Chad Kyle Carson. “I like it a lot. It reminds me of my grandma. I enjoy singing for and hugging my residents,” Day said about her job.
Day has had quite the impact on the students and staff at West. “I love all the amazing people that have entered and left my life. I still keep the feeling in my heart,” she said. Mrs. Van Houten has a very positive relationship with Day, receiving a hug from her every morning. “Jayden is full of intellectual curiosity, and has a passion for justice. She is always kind,” sVan Houten said.
After high school, Day will be moving down to Texas to attend Texas State University. She will be getting her bachelor’s degree and then go into the famous body farm program. Day plans on becoming a Doctor of Medicine, getting her PHD, as well as continuing being a caretaker part- time. Jayden’s kind soul will be missed at West.
