On August 29th, St.Charles West had our annual fall sports assembly. Every year the fall sports assembly is one of the first events that kick off the new school year and gets students excited for the year ahead. This year the assembly was a bit different in that it was the first assembly SCW has held outside.
During the assembly, SCW showcases all of our fall sports such as girls tennis, volleyball, football, cross country, softball and boys soccer. SCW also has numerous clubs and activities that are also showcased at the assembly such as Key Club, Student Council (Stuco), Renaissance and so many more.
With the many successes of the assembly, there comes a few mistakes. Junior Carson Harris said, “I don’t think the assembly was bad for the first time being outside, however, this wasn’t our best assembly.” Because of the long planning process that goes into creating these assemblies, a few mistakes are inevitable. Senior, Evelyn Isom, said “We stumble, learn, and continue forward onto the next thing.”
Despite a few hidden obstacles, the assembly was a success and created a fresh and exciting atmosphere for the new school year.
