The 2022 NHS Induction

Last night, the St. Charles West National Honors Society hosted their annual NHS induction at the St. Charles West auditorium.  The ceremony started with every NHS inductee receiving their robes while other members waited in the auditorium for the ceremony to start.  Families of new inductees began to enter the auditorium and waited for the ceremony to start.

The ceremony started with principal Dr. Scott Voelkl saying a few wise words to the NHS inductees as a whole.  These words gave wisdom to both the new inductees, but the current members as well.  After his speech, guest speaker (and current St. Charles West teacher) Jeremy Jackson also said a few words to the inductees.  This speech also included an activity where the inductees were told to close their eyes and give themselves a head start to their own success, an activity that will be positively remembered.

After Jackson’s speech, each NHS officer said a few words on the foundational values of the National Honors Society: character, leadership, service, and scholarship.  This then led each new inductee to say the NHS pledge and receive their membership card and certificate individually.

Overall, St. Charles West welcomed 29 new members to the Boone Chapter of the St. Charles West National Honor Society.  After the ceremony, the new inductees got to celebrate with current members with snacks, drinks, pictures, and games.  Overall, it was a celebratory night for St. Charles West High School, and it welcomes the bright minds of new inductees into a highly commemorated program.
