Mr. Stancil has recently taken on the role of head coach for the girls’ tennis team. Last year, Stancil was an assistant coach, but due to the previous head coach, Mr. Hantack, getting ill, Stancil took over.
When Hantack asked Stancil to take on being head coach, Stancil was, “Honored and humbled,” he also added “It’s hard to step into the role of head coach when you are taking over from a great coach.” One of the 22 girls on the team replied, “He is hilarious and knows how to bring the team together as a family.” Said Hala Ghannam.
Coach Stancil may have been the perfect person for the job, based on his attitude and optimism he may lead the girls to success this year. “As long as you play to the best of your ability and try, you will never have anything to hold your head down for,“ — Charles Stancil.
