This week, the St. Charles West National Honors Society chapter is hosting their philanthropy week.  Each school hosts their own philanthropy week, picking charities that chapters want to support and raise money.  For the St. Charles West chapter, the theme this week is Nurses Week.

In order to showcase the phenomenal nurses around the state of Missouri, St. Charles West plans to commemorate Nurse Mary Hanne throughout the week while raising money for the Missouri Nurses Foundation.  In order to show the school’s appreciation for the Missouri Nurses Foundation, NHS is currently raising money for the foundation by allowing the students to choose which principal to pie during the May assembly.  The students can put money towards a principal in order to pie them in support of the Missouri Nurses Foundation.

Overall, participation throughout the week has been incredibly high, with donations and participation from the student body to support the week.  The remaining spirit days go as follows:

  1. Hero Day – Wear your capes and hero shirts!
  2. White Out – Celebrate nurses by wearing white!

If you are interested, stop by the lunch tables to donate money to a certain principal in support of the Missouri Nurses Foundation.  The principal with the most money will receive a pie to the face at the May assembly!
