Vivian Frick is a senior here at St. Charles West. You may have seen her cheering at a football game or working at Pickleman’s always being involved and supportive in both her school and community.
Frick has shown herself to be an incredible athlete throughout her high school career. She is a cheerleader on both of SCW’s cheer teams, Maroon and White (competition), and SCW’s varsity game day team. Not only is she an outstanding athlete in school, but she is also an athlete outside of school. Frick has been cheering at Platinum Athletics for over 10 years spanning from level one all the way up to level seven. “Cheer has been a major part of my life as it has given me such amazing opportunities and made me into the person I am today.” Frick said.
Cheer has made a big impact on Frick’s life and created so many fun and long-lasting memories for years to come. “My favorite memory was competing at the 2025 Kansas City Regional Cheer Competition, where I became a 2x regional champion or the big and little reveal during cheer camp 2025 where I got Samantha Johnson as my little and that started a bond I will never forget,” Frick said, “My favorite memory from all star cheer was when it was announced that my team had made finals and was going into day two in sixth place at the Cheerleading Worlds 2026. It was really a dream come true moment for me.”
Outside of school you may find Frick doing a number of things, including working, cheering, thrifting, doing word searches, hanging out with friends, or writing.
Throughout high school, Frick has met her two best friends, senior Esme Picker and senior Isabelle O’Connell.
After high school, Frick has big plans. She will be attending Drake University to major in journalism and strategic political communications, in hopes of using this degree to become a political journalist in the future. Frick also plans on continuing her cheer career throughout college, earning herself a spot on Drake University’s cheer team. In 10 years Frick says she hopes to be living in Iowa, just her and her two cats.
Even with the excitement of college, leaving behind the last four years can be bittersweet. “I will miss my favorite teacher, Mrs. Weil. She inspired me to go for a career in journalism and pursue what I love. I will also miss my underclassmen friends.” Frick said.
Frick has been very involved and supportive throughout her high school career. While leaving high school can be sad, Frick said, “I am looking forward to leaving St. Charles and seeing what the world has in store for me.” SCW will miss Frick’s bright smile and her witty sense of humor. Good luck, Vivian!
