Today, we are recognizing senior Clair Ott.  Clair has been apart of science club, HOSA, NHS, and has helped in the homecoming decoration committee within the student council for four years at St. Charles West.  She participated in swimming and throwing (track) her sophomore year and has been an active tennis player for the past three years.  During her time on the tennis team, she was nominated captain back-to-back junior and senior year and has also managed the boy’s tennis team.

Her favorite memory at West was playing kids games in German 3 in the commons and library while laughing with her friends.

As for post-high school plans, she will be attending Olivet Nazarene University with a scholarship in tennis.  She will be taking classes to earn a double major in Forensic Chemistry and Art.  She plans to then get her doctorate in forensic science and move to Germany with her boyfriend Ben King.

Her advice to the underclassmen is do what needs to be done and stay positive.

“A shoutout to my underclassmen friends,” says Ott, “You guys all mean so much to me.  Thank you for making my time at West what it was.  I will miss every single one of you guys and I can’t wait to see where we’ll all be in a few years”.

In order to leave a legacy at West, she would leave behind her timidity and anxiousness about joining new things or going on adventures (and her artwork).

Congratulations Clair! West is so proud of you!
