On Thursday May 19th, the St. Charles West baseball team faced the Wright City Wildcats in the district championship for their district.  Throughout the game, the Warriors held a consistent lead against Wright City with a score of 2-0.  In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Wildcats managed to tie the game up 2-2, sending the Warriors into over time with a district title on the line.

At the top of the eighth inning, sophomore Karson Quinn started the inning with a single.  Following him, senior Lindenwood commit Josh Newell managed to hit a walk-off home run.  This brought the score to 4-2, and gave the Warriors another district title.

“The home run felt amazing.  It’s one of those things that you dream about as a kid,” says Josh Newell.

This also makes the 2021-2022 school year the second consecutive year the Warriors baseball team has won a district title.

“I’m glad we were able to do it back to back.  All the boys played great defense and hit the ball hard”, says Newell.

The Warriors play next on May 24th in the MSHSAA sectional game against Priory at home.
