With 2023 just around the corner, there are a lot of new movies coming with the new year. In 2022, many notable movies came out. Top Gun Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, and Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness were the top grossing movies in 2022. The movie industry grew by 17.4% in the last year, and will hopefully grow more with these new movies coming out in 2023.

There are 2 unexpected movies coming out, that will continue a beloved movie series. Shrek 5 comes out on May 20th and will feature the same cast as before, even though it is a reboot. You can see trailers for it on YouTube. It is going to be about Shrek and Fiona navigating parenting for three ogre teenagers. After being discussed for years, Princess Diaries 3 is finally coming! We have no details about the movie yet, except for the fact that it will be produced by Disney. But, if it is anything like Meg Cabot’s third Princess Diaries book, we are in for a treat!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is always coming out with new movies for our enjoyment. The Marvels, Kraven the Hunter, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, and Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania is coming out in 2023. These movies will bring new adventure and characters, as well as setting up for the next Avengers movie, which is set to release in May of 2025. The Marvels is the second movie starring Captian Marvel. She will be joined by Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel and Spectrum a.k.a. Monica Rambeau. This movie is set to release on July 28th. Kraven the Hunter introduces this comic book legend. He is one of the popular Spider-man villains. Kraven will be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who also played Quiksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It is set to release on October 6th. Guardians of the Galaxy are getting their 3rd installment to their movies and fans are very excited to see them again. The original cast will be returning alongside Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. It will release on May 5th, 2023. Lastly, Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania will release on February 12th. They will pick up where the Loki series left off, exploring the quantum realm. This movie is supposed to make a large impact on the next Avengers movie: Kang Dynasty.
