The St. Charles West jazz band was recently in Chicago for the Jazz in the Meadows competition. The jazz ensemble ended up winning class 1A with a 91.3 and the combo placed second with a 94.
“I think the competition went way better than anyone thought it would,” said Landon Andereck, freshman, when asked how he felt about the jazz band’s time in Chicago.
Sophomore Harrison Hedrickson got the outstanding soloist award for his trombone solos in the songs O.P and North Shore Morning.
