SCW falls to Orchard Farm in district championship (Photo Gallery)

Last night, the St. Charles West Lady Warriors fell to the Orchard Farm Eagles at Orchard Farm High School with a decisive score of 56-52.  The ladies managed to consistently stay close to the Eagles, but ended up falling short in the final quarter.

This unfortunately marks the end of the season for seniors Mia Nicastro, Sophia Prost, Lily Jackson, Harmony Hudson, and Hannah Myers.  However, their legacies will leave a mark on the posterity of St. Charles West, and set a strong foundation for the future.

In addition, this game marked the end of Coach Angela Pointdexter’s basketball coaching.  Pointdexter has coached at St. Charles West since the 1980s, coaching the 1998 state cross country team to a state title, 3x GAC North champions in a row for basketball and other notable achievements in track.  Pointdexter will continue to coach cross country and track for the remainder of her coaching.

As for the program, the future is looking bright with returning juniors Elena Scheve and Kameryn Arnold and sophomores Abby Govero, Avery Jackson, and Sequoia Ross.  St. Charles West is proud of you, ladies! Congrats on a phenomenal season!
