Yesterday (3/8), the St. Charles West Warriors boys basketball team faced the Mexico Bulldogs at the Class 4 Sectional Game at Troy High School.  Unfortunately, the Warriors fell short of a victory with a score of 61-48, but hard work was consistent throughout the game.

The Warriors trailed throughout the game, with the first quarter score being 15-10, and at halftime 29-16.  For the rest of the game, the Warriors trailed by an average of ten points throughout the third and fourth quarters for an end score of 61-48, with the Mexico Bulldogs advancing to the quarterfinals.

This game marked the end of seniors Josh Newell, Braden Goellner, Giovanni Patton, and Darin Gordon.  While the seniors will be missed, the Warriors ended the season with a number of accomplishments under their belt, including Class 4 District 7 champions and champions of the GAC North.  While it was a sad ending to the senior’s basketball career, the accomplishments and foundation the seniors built will not be forgotten.
