SCW Baseball Jamboree

Yesterday, the St. Charles West baseball team faced the Lutheran St. Charles Cougars, the Fort Zumwalt East Lions, and the St. Louis Patriots at the annual jamboree held at Fort Zumwalt East/Lutheran St. Charles baseball fields.  The Warriors played three hard fought games, however, ended up losing against Lutheran St. Charles 5-2, losing to Fort Zumwalt East 8-5, and tied against the Patriots with a score of 4-4.

This was the debut of the St. Charles West baseball team since May 2021.  Last 2020-2021 school year, the Warriors made it to the quarterfinals of the MSHSAA state tournament before losing to Blair Oaks in May.  This year, many of the teammates are returning varsity members, as well as prominent and skilled freshman joining the team.

With seniors Dylan Patterson, Josh Newell, and sophomore Karson Quinn at the DECA state convention in Kansas City, the warriors had to implement a different lineup for the jamboree.  This allowed for other members of the team to learn to work with one another during the first two games.  During game three against the Patriots, the starting lineup was implemented.  The Warriors worked and played hard.

Highlights include junior Kyle Quinn with the first home run of the season at the Lutheran St. Charles field, a successful stolen base, and many other notable achievements at the jamboree.

The Warriors play Saturday against Duchesne High School for their next game.
