With Halloween fast approaching a big question arises within St.Charles West. How will you celebrate Halloween? In elementary school dressing up in big, elaborate costumes to trick-or-treat for hours was all the rage. In middle school, costumes became simpler and trick-or-treating never lasted as long. But, what about high school? Are costumes still worn? Is trick-or-treating still a thing? Here’s what SCW has to say.
A common celebration when it comes to Halloween, is getting together with friends and family to celebrate the holiday. Big dinners and family get-togethers are always fun, but when the sun goes down, how is Halloween celebrated?
Senior Mya Douglas said she doesn’t trick-or-treat for Halloween, but, Douglas said, “I dress up for fun with friends to still celebrate the holiday and still add fun to the day.” While trick-or-treating may not be as common in high school, dressing up is still a fun way to celebrate the holiday. However, even though trick-or-treating isn’t as common, it is still a great way to celebrate the holiday. Sophomore Grace Malady said, “I dress up because it’s just become tradition to dress up, and the same thing with trick or treating and it’s also fun.”
While the Halloween celebration may look a bit different during your high school years, there are still great ways to celebrate and have fun on the holiday. Happy Halloween SCW.
