Mr. VanLeuven is a new FACS teacher here at Saint Charles West. This is his third year teaching FACS. Mr. VanLeuven went to Saint Charles High growing up, then later went to Mizzou for his teaching degree. Before teaching at SCW, he was a FACS teacher at a high school in Jefferson City.
Mr. VanLeuven decided to pursue his career as a teacher in his second year in college. “I originally wanted to get a degree in engineering, but the summers off and the impact I could make on the students, drew me to become a teacher instead.” Mr. Van Leuven said.
Lastly, his favorite part of SCW: “The students and the teachers, as well as the 80-minute class periods.” Mr. Vanleuven was asked what he is most looking forward to here at Saint Charles West. “I’m mostly looking forward to the impact I can make here and helping you guys as students enjoy, and have a great time during your high school years!” he said. The students and teachers appreciate Mr. VanLeuven, and can’t wait to see what these upcoming years bring to SCW.
