St. Charles West had it’s annual food drive against St. Charles High School this month. The food drive ran from November 3rd to November 25th. The winner of the food drive was announced at halftime of the Turkey Tip Off game, with the winner being St. Charles West.
Student Council President, Evelyn Isom has been involved with the drive for the past 4 years. “The food drive is always a super awesome thing that we get to do every year! Not only because of the competition with high, but also the importance of both the act of giving back to the St. Charles community, but also as a reminder of why we give, and what we can do to continue to help support each other” said Isom.
The food drive collected items such as cereal, boxed and canned goods, chips and crackers, and pop-tarts. As a school, St. Charles west collected a total of 673 items and St. Charles High collected 534.
STUCO sponsor Mrs. Bourgeade says, “St Charles West students and staff came together again this year to donate food and cash for our annual food drive that benefits our school’s Backpack Program.”
The food drive at St. Charles West is a great tradition that helps to support our own people and shows how much of an impact we can make when we all work together.
