    Get to Know Our Goose

    Get+to+Know+Our+Goose

Everyone knows and loves the Golden Goose. It’s SCW’s biggest football fan, coming to every game it can and getting all dressed up! Yet, when we ask people around the school, no one knows where it came from!

The original Goose’s first appearance was in 2014. 2016 graduate Kyle Svoboda went to a thrift store to shop for the next football game’s theme, USA. As Kyle was leaving he spotted a Goose dressed as Betsy Ross and thought it was perfect. He purchased it and brought it to the game and the Warriors won! Many people gave the credit to the Goose and deemed it lucky, thus the Goose was born. The Goose has been shown lots of love throughout the years, being spray painted gold (a mystery of how and why) and half of it being rubbed off.

If you know anything else about the history of the Goose, let us know on Instagram @SCW_Today and we will update further.
