Penny Jarvis is a senior here St. Charles West. You may have seen her playing on the volleyball court or hyping up the student section at a football game. Throughout her years at SCW, Jarvis has shown herself to be an involved and spirited student.
Jarvis has been a very involved student, participating in numerous sports, activities, and clubs each year she’s attended SCW. She participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honor Society (NHS), SCW tribe, track and field, volleyball, and breakfast club. She has an important role in lots of the clubs and activities she participates in, such as: NHS vice president, SCW tribe president, an FCA leader, and varsity volleyball team captain. Out of all the things she is involved in Jarvis says that FCA is her favorite because she, “loves gathering on Friday mornings and getting to play fun games and have good discussions.”
Not only does Jarvis play a vital role inside the walls of our school, she is also an active member of our community. She is very involved in her church, Bogey Hills Baptist, by being on the missions team and working in the kid’s and youth ministries. She is also a hostess at Bob Evans and is a key player on her club volleyball team, Pao STL.
Jarvis says that she is very excited for her senior year and all the fun activities and opportunities that come along with being a senior. Jarvis said, “I am excited for all the memories. There are a lot of exciting things that seniors get to be a part of and I am just excited to do it all with my friends and have a year of meaningful lasts.” Jarvis says her motivation to keep her going throughout her high school years has been her, “Friends and family who help push me to keep doing my best and strive to help me set up the best plan for my future that honors God.”
After high school Jarvis has big plans. She has committed to Avila university in Kansas City to study nursing and continue her athletic career, earning herself a spot on the University’s volleyball team. She says that in 5 years she wants to have her Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She also hopes to have her nursing license, as well as to have found a long-term workplace while continuing her schooling in order to become a nurse practitioner.
Jarvis has been very influential throughout her years here at SCW. Known for her determination and school spirit, SCW knows that Jarvis will thrive in her future. Good luck, Penny!
